Winning entry in a competition for the conversion of Värpinge Farm for student accommodation. The brief was to build small flats within the shell of the former barn and outbuildings. The aim was to blend the conversion naturally with the overall farm environment and the design of the existing farmhouse.

Large features such as cart sheds and tall doors give a look that resembles the scale of a large farm outbuilding. Facades made of recycled bricks from the old wings of the farm were used to frame the courtyard, which acts as a natural meeting place. Värpinge is located in the city of Lund in southern Sweden in the county of Skåne. Lund is Sweden’s oldest city with about 100,000 inhabitants of which 40,000 are students at Lund University.
